During the earlier stages of the Covid-19 pandemic and the first lockdown i felt generally positive and optimistic. I was is productive mode. A walk everyday. Check. Revamp my yoga website. Check. Generous, hearty, plentiful meals for the family. Check. Develop new skills using the pilates reformer. Check. I was all ready to reopen the Little Yoga Room Studio as soon as i was allowed......... and then......... the second lockdown!
It's been hard. The disappointment at not being able to reopen. The uncertainty of it all. I moved into a more worried phase, not so clear that all would be as it was. But after being in that uncertainty for a while, sitting with the uncomfortableness of change, i started to think about new ways to support my community of yogis. I was reminded that part of any yoga practice is being able to sit with discomfort, to see if it changes , to adapt, to grow.
So, Im adapting. I've started zoom classes with students this week. All my fears that my teaching wouldn't be able to translate had gotten in the way of thinking how to best support my students. To be together on the mat, virtually or in person, is a great joy. The shared practice, even if we are not physically together, supports and encourages us all. Our Little Yoga Room Community.
I'll be looking forward to seeing you all, on the mat again soon.
